Lise & Robert, a Yaletown adventure
July 25th seemed to be the popular date this year, I turned down countless inquiries after I had booked with Lise and Robert to shoot their wedding. I couldn't have chosen a more amazing couple to work with on this date!
When Lise sent me the wedding day itinerary it was titled "The Most Amazing, Fun-Filled Loving Day" and I knew she wouldn't disappoint. Lise is brimming over with positivity and warmth, and Robert, her Swedish sweetie, melts my heart with his love for this girl. They chose many vendors based on the kind of people they wanted to surround themselves with on such an important day. I'm truly honoured to have been among them! The wedding was spectacular and unique in so many ways, keep scrolling to see what I mean.

Enjoy the sneak peek :)

The day began at L'Hermitage...

Make-up and hair for our gorgeous bride by the always-fabulous Jayna Marie

LOVE the first look at her makeup, so pumped! Jayna has worked her magic once again!

You know how much I'm loving the long veils this year...

A first meeting in Yaletown before our shoot.

The owner of the bike came out with a tray of cold beer for the entire wedding party!

Back to the Roundhouse for a candle-lit and spotlight ceremony in the Performance Centre, truly unique.

Gorgeous decor everywhere I looked...

The anthem for the 2009 bouquet toss is Beyonce's 'All The Single Ladies' but this is the first time I've seen the dance performed before the toss!

The rain came down during dinner, but stopped for 10 minutes while I took some ring shots (love the rain drops that were left behind).

Thanks for having me along to document this tremendous day!
Lise, I'll miss our coffee walks now that you're in Sweden... and I'm soooo excited to see you at Angie's wedding in a couple weeks!

Geoff & Ashley
When I met these two in Fort Langley for their engagement session, we had a lot of laughs and I began to get excited about the wedding. True to form, they worked their natural groove on the wedding day, and we got some fabulous late afternoon sunlight to illuminate the tile murals at SFU.

And... just for fun, here's the three of us making the "Geoff Face".

Weekend To End Breast Cancer

This weekend, instead of walking around with a wedding party in heels, I'll be walking 60km's for the fight against breast cancer.
This is my third time walking for this event and including this year, I've raised $6400 so far. This year, my 37 donors helped me contribute $2063 to breast cancer research and programs. To those people, I say my most heartfelt Thank-You. It is because of you that I will join several hundred other people this weekend in our victory walk.

This event is close to my heart, and I walk for three women - my Aunt, a dear friend (who are both survivors), and in memory of a friend's mom, who lost her battle shortly after I walked for the first time in Toronto.

Last year, I finished without a single blister. (thanks, Lululemon socks!) With determination and a little luck, I hope to do it again this year.

Anna & Ryan (the heatwave begins!)
Anna & Ryan's wedding was at the beginning of the heat wave that we experienced here in Vancouver during July. Their ceremony was framed by two trees overlooking English Bay and the north shore mountains, and we did a whirlwind of locations from Kits beach to the seawall and finally back to the False Creek Yacht Club for the reception. Despite the heat, these two kept their cool. Looking forward to hearing about Paris!

Jacquelyn & Trevor
Jacquelyn & Trevor won my door prize at the Langley Wedding Show, an engagement shoot. It has to be mentioned that my 'short walk to the cool spot' turned out to be a lot longer than I remembered... and Jacquelyn hiked it there in her stilettos without a single complaint, sigh, or blister. These two were a breeze to photograph and even found a way to work with my big goofy flower!
