Margo & Ryan got engaged on the West Coast Trail... we've decided to save the hiking boots for some wedding day fun :)
Originally we planned to shoot at UBC but I'm glad we changed it to an urban city location, I enjoyed exploring new pockets I wasn't aware of, thanks to Margo & Ryan. And for them, this shoot took place in their adopted Vancouver neighbourhood. We began at a little spot near a skytrain station, wandered to an abacus... (after I figured out what an abacus is, ha) and walked all the way through Gastown, along Alexander Street to Portside Park... phew!
The downside to this route? Much of it held the faint (or not-so-faint) aroma of pee. The upside? Margo & Ryan looked really cute when they giggled at me while I muttered about the smell.
Ryan proposed using Margo's grandmother's beautiful silver original Birk's ring box, isn't it lovely?
I got a really nice e-mail from Margo, thought I'd share some of it...
"I'm so glad that we decided to stay in this neighbourhood - I meant to tell you that my great-grandma grew up in this area. She lived and went to school on East Pender just a bit further east from where we were - the house and school are still there. We had a great time shooting with you, and we're really happy with the photos!"Labels: vancouver engagement photographer, Vancouver wedding photographer |
