Gracious, genuine and true-to-themselves, Krista and Jim planned their wedding day with what they wanted in mind and stuck to their guns! They both dressed at their home, while maintaining a separation suitable for a breathtaking 'first look' moment yet still being able to help one another with the inevitable things that pop up on a wedding day!
I hadn't pegged Krista as a shoe girl but she blew me away with her sparkly Jimmy Choo's for day time and a gorgeous pair of Kate Spade's for evening, paired with Tiffany accessories and her simple, elegant gown she made for a stunning bride.
We shot under the King George overpass (a location I've been wanting to try for a while) then moved onto Crescent Beach before heading back to Belle's on 32 for their ceremony and reception.
Here's another area that K&J kept their wedding day true to themselves. Sappy music? Noooooo way! Jim walked down the aisle to Queen's 'Under Pressure' followed by Krista making her entrance to 'Ohhhhh Yeah' (the Ferris Bueller song!!) which loosened everyone up for a truly memorable, meaningful ceremony.
And then the party began! Since Krista and Jim have been together for a long time, there was an underlying subtle theme they adopted, "when pigs fly" (that's when they said they'd be married) and carried it through the day with subtle humour (see if you can spot the pigs in some of the photos!) and even a few well-placed pigs with wings on the tables.
HUGE thanks to Sarah Funk for being my second shooter for this wedding!!!
