Audrey & Tyson |
I'm not sure where to begin telling you about the awesomeness that was Audrey & Tyson's wedding. I'll start with their story, they've been best friends for almost 10 years. Some time less than a year before the wedding they finally said "I love you" and the rest, as they say, is history. Their Baha'i ceremony was full of blessings from family and friends, and Audrey's walk down the aisle with her father was one of the most joyful events I've ever had the pleasure of photographing... the emotion was contagious! The photo session was a BLAST (insert jazz hands here, haha) and the party continued upon the return to the reception with an amazing grand entrance, and the DANCING! I don't think I stopped smiling all day. Time for some photos, don't you think?
The first dance was a choreographed and SO-MUCH-FUN dance to I Got You Babe
Audrey & Tyson played the shoe game, but it was actually just a sneaky way to get Audrey blindfolded, while a guitar and amplifier was set up for Tyson. As the game ended and Audrey removed her blindfold, Tyson played and sang Kings of Leon's 'Use Somebody'
The dancing! I've NEVER seen a crowd like this one, it was fantastic.
Audrey & Tyson, all I can say is WOW. I had a really hard time choosing which images to blog, but I think this little selection gives a glimpse into how much fun was had by all... thanks for such a great day! |

Tom & Angie |
A wedding party up for anything, a grand Vespa entrance, some opera singing during dinner, a beautiful bride and a groom's speech that made an entire room of people teary... this was Angie & Tom's Granville Island wedding. Throw in some rockin' tunes by Brickhouse, and a late night dj... this was a fantastic party!
Off to Granville Island for our shoot, and the reception held in the Dockside Restaurant at the Granville Island Hotel...
Tom & Angie made blueberry jam for their guests, yum!
Brickhouse (yes, the same band from The Yale, played for the reception... they were FABULOUS, everyone was dancing!

2 photographers modelling, it's as funny as it sounds. |
I began my career with Heather back in Ontario, and now that I'm here in Vancouver I was thrilled when she and her family moved just a little closer, to Saskatoon. I visited her in her new city back in January (Saskatoon. In January. That's love.) and she visited me here in Vancouver in September... (It was sunny & warm and we spent a lot of time lunching on patios. Who had it easier, hmmmm?) Anyway, we both needed an updated photo for our websites, check hers out here
She also did some photos of my little family while she was here, I'll share a couple soon, promise!
We also asked a random person walking by to take one of both of us, I think it turned out pretty good :)

Jeff & Shira, Roberts Creek |
Shira and Jeff described their vision for their wedding to me as "west coast casual" and they pulled it off beautifully. The day began for all of us with a ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. A short drive to Roberts Creek, and the spit where the ceremony was to take place came into view, stretching out into the sea. Jeff & Shira were married with their loved ones surrounding them, plenty of sunshine and a coastal breeze.
There was plenty of dancing, and a Jewish tradition - to celebrate when all of the children of a family are married, the parents are honoured with a dance, Shira's mom wept with happiness, beautiful!
And a sun-drenched ferry ride home, I enjoyed my first view of the spectacular coastal mountain that line the Sea-To-Sky highway from the water. Thanks Jeff & Shira for a beautiful day.Labels: gibson's bc wedding, robert's creek wedding, sunshine coast wedding photographer |
