Grouse Mountain (destination) wedding with Ginny & Dwight |
I don't even know where to begin telling you about Ginny & Dwight... but I'm gonna try. G&D are from Minneapolis and being the crazy sports fans they are, came to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics, fell in love with our wonderful city and decided to get married here. Ginny and I bonded over email before we even met, and meeting in person proved to be as comfortable as if we'd known each other for years! G&D hosted a welcome party for everyone traveling to the wedding at the most perfect of venues, a Vancouver Canadians baseball game where Dwight got to cheer for his hometown team, the Spokane Chiefs... but we won't hold that against him. :) They invited me to join, with my husband, without my camera... we had a blast. So, on the wedding day it's cloudy and threatening rain, typical Vancouver. Ginny and Dwight have planned a mountain top ceremony up on Grouse, but it was not to be (see the cables on the gondola below... completely socked in with fog) but their upbeat attitude and love for Vancouver prevailed with Ginny declaring "Who else can say they got married in the clouds???" and so it was... indoors at the top of Grouse Mountain without the lights twinkling below but with warmth inside and surrounded by clouds, family and friends - it was a perfect evening. Our photo session took place in the Olympic Village (how fitting!) and the rain held off JUST long enough. Make sure to check out the Bridesmaids recreation of the movie poster we did below... these girls rocked it!
A huge thanks to the amazing Sarah Funk for second shooting with me this day and for capturing some awesome photos that I got to be IN... with new friends from Minnesota :)
Along with Jayna Marie makeup & hair and Sunflower Florist, and A Day To Remember, our Vancouver vendor dream team gave these Minnesotans a day they'll never forget. Can't wait to visit you guys in MN... we miss you in Vancouver but come back for an anniversary someday :)

New West engagement session with Jenn & Ryan |
Such a fun evening with Jenn & Ryan! Because a) these two love to laugh... b) they are crazy about each other and c) we had a rainbow appear right at the end as were finishing the shoot... how awesome is that?!
We explored gritty Front Street and ventured into the new Quayside Park, it's a new favourite in the New West area... can't wait to shoot there again in September!

Minoru Park + Point Grey Golf & Country Club wedding photography with Cailin & Kienan |
July 14th... my own (11th!) wedding anniversary and I got to spend it with Cailin & Kienan on a beautiful sunny day. We began in Tsawwassen (which I cannot remember how to spell for the life of me!) at Cailin's parent's home, the one she grew up in. It was right on the beach, we enjoyed the sea breeze while the girls prepared for the day. After a quick stop in at the hospital to see Cailin's grandma, we were off to Minoru Chapel for the ceremony with one of my favourite Vancouver officiants, Mitchell Clarke.
The rest of the photos were done at the Richmond Olympic Oval, and then we were off to Point Grey Golf & Country Club!
Huge thanks to Sarah Funk for being my amazing 2nd photographer for the day in addition to being a fantastic navigator, kid-entertainer... she's all around awesome :)
Gorgeous jewellery by Sweet Piece and some sexy Badgley Mischka's!
