Julia & Derry
My favourite part of Julia and Derry's speech was when they quoted an old saying "You can judge a lot about a person by the company they keep, and if this is true, then we must be AWESOME."
I couldn't agree more. From the reggae music that played when the bride walked down the aisle, to the gypsy jazz band that played after dinner, the day was full of laughter and laid back fun... and even a little badminton!
The AMAZING cake topper was handmade my the groom's sister, an artist in Abbotsford. She'll make on for you too... just ask me for her info. It was kinda Burton-esque... and totally cool.

Jessica & Scott, a Gastown adventure
This morning I got to read this fantastic little piece of e-mail... I'll be smiling for the rest of the day. I was going to write all sorts of things about how Jessica totally rocked a fabulous dress all over Gastown... (Scott looked alright too!) or how much I love her hair (and the little flower tucked behind her ear!) but really, I'll just leave you with this:

Scott and I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for our beautiful pictures.
We were able to share some pictures with family over the weekend and they were blown away.
That day in Gastown, while we were walking around as we usually do - you snapped away and managed to transform day to day images into something so special and magnificent with your talented eye.

You really captured a variety of different moments from fun to private and tender moments.
Each picture is so different and unique from the next.

More than anything we felt completely relaxed with you and that day in Gastown we often refer to one of our most fun filled days.

Scott and I both look so forward to our wedding day being captured so beautifully by such a professional.
Thank you again Jennifer!

My job ROCKS.

Jenn & Kyle listened to me exclaiming about amazing light for over an hour...
So, there's this thing called 'Magic Hour' that all photographers love... it's that time of day when the sun is setting and it makes your skin look all glow-y and warm. (Jenn & Kyle just came home from a long trip to Singapore and a few other places... so the setting sun can't take all the credit here for her glowing colour!) Anyway, I think that magic hour in Vancouver is particularly awesome because there's so many great beaches to shoot on and well, sunsets & beaches just go together so nicely!

Hollie & Aaron
Another clear, sunshine-filled day for Hollie & Aaron who were married at Aberthau Manor. I met Hollie thanks to one of my brides from 2008... and the story is not mine to tell, but let's just say that we shared some tears at Starbucks and felt instantly connected. What else can I say? Hollie and Aaron wowed me with their style and the first dance was soooo much fun to shoot! Their wedding was full of the special talents of their friends and family, from the yummy and adorable gingerbread bride & groom cookies, to the gorgeous floral arrangements. (I even got to take one home!)

I. Love. Victoria. (and Stefanie & Gregor)
Thanks to Stefanie & Gregor, I've grown to love Victoria. May 16th marked the beginning of my season this year and a sunny Saturday at Laurel Point was a perfect way to begin! The city was bustling! (apparently, Victoria is THE place to be for the Victoria Day long weekend, go figure!)
Here's some images to tell the story of their day.

Outdoor ceremony overlooking the water at the lovely Laurel Point Inn

I'm not sure what this is... but it was funny!

McCaulay Point provided us a clear view over to the Olympic Mountains

Then we were off to the British Columbia Legislature buildings, around the side for something different (and less tourists!)

The bottle of champagne was bought just so we could do this... "just like when someone wins Formula One"

Some heartfelt speeches...

Stefanie and her lovely girls

ok... so have you noticed a theme here? Go back to the Formula One champagne shot...

Florals were by the talented and super nice Sarina at Bella Fiore Custom Floral Design in Victoria, she's on twitter too!
